VEISHEA Canoe Races
Canoe Races,1947
The popular tradition of canoe races on Lake LaVerne became a near annual VEISHEA event in 1945, although races had been held sporadically prior to that time. The objective is to canoe to the opposite end of the lake, often dressed in costume, and tip over your opponents' canoe without being overturned yourself.
